Course Information

Introduction

This five-day course covers practical financial management for non-governmental organisations. It focuses on budgeting, cash flow, donor reporting, compliance and internal controls. Participants work on real NGO scenarios and tools they can apply immediately. Strong financial practices reduce risk, improve accountability and support better program decisions.

Objectives

1. Create and manage program and organisational budgets that meet donor and operational requirements.
2. Forecast and monitor cash flow to prevent shortfalls and plan disbursements.
3. Design and implement internal controls and segregation of duties appropriate to organisation size.
4. Prepare donor-compliant financial reports and assemble the necessary supporting documentation.
5. Analyse basic financial statements and ratios to evaluate program cost-efficiency and organisational health.
